EN 590

EN 590

Introduced with European pollution standards. With each revision, EN 590 has been adapted to reduce the sulfur content of diesel fuel – since 2007 this diesel has been called ultra-low sulfur because it no longer functions as a lubricant (and must be replaced with additives).

The quality of European diesel fuels is determined by the EN 590 standard. Although these specifications are not mandatory, they are followed by all fuel suppliers in Europe.

Automobile diesel en 590 is intended for use in diesel engines. The fuel quality of the diesel engine is in accordance with the requirements of the European standard EN 590
